Limerick

The Limerick senior hurlers took on Tipperary in a challenge match in aid of the Dillon Quirke Foundation on Sunday. This was an immensely proud day for Na Piarsaigh as our own Conor Boylan was chosen to captain the Limerick side. Emmet McEvoy also lined out at corner back for the Treaty Men. Tipp were victorious on the day winning on a scoreline of 3-17 to 1-20.

Schools Hurling

On Thursday last, Gaelcholáiste Luimnigh were victorious over Gaelcholáiste Chiarraí in the Munster E hurling final, winning on a scoreline of 2-19 to 1-13. This was a hugely special victory for all those connected with Na Piarsaigh as the cup is named in honour of our former Treasurer and club legend Liam Kennedy. Liam’s wife Anne presented the cup to our own Josh Sheehan, Gaelcholáiste Luimnigh captain. It was wonderful to see the strong Na Piarsaigh involvement both in a playing and coaching capacity with Pat Gleeson and Cathal King acting as joint managers. Along with Josh as captain, we also had his brother Danny, Mark Hogan, John and Ger O’Tiarnaigh, Joe Buckley and Eoin Vuckovic all involved. It’s a great testament to the time and hard work that Cathal and Pat have put into hurling in Gaelcholáiste Luimnigh over the past number of years and long may it continue into the future.

Ardscoil Rís will take on St. Joseph’s CBS, Nenagh in the Harty Cup final next Saturday at 1.00pm in Cusack Park, Ennis. We would like to take this opportunity to wish the players and management all the best in their bid to win back the Munster crown for the first time since 2018. The Na Piarsaigh men involved are James Finn, John O’Keefe, Ronan Benson, Sean Harrington and Eoin Brosnan.

Football

Well done to Alex Harris on making the Limerick U16 Football Academy squad for the season ahead. Great credit must go to Alex and all the football coaches in Na Piarsaigh for the hard work they have put in over the last number of years. We wish Alex all the best for the season ahead.

Parents Information Night

An excellent presentation was given by Des Ryan and Diarmuid Hayes of Setanta on Friday evening last. This went through our Player Development Programme that has commenced in the club. This will be of great benefit to all our young hurlers and footballers and we would like to thank Des and Diarmuid for their valued contribution on the night.
