Senior Football

Our senior footballers had a 4-point loss to Oola in the first round of the league on Saturday. We took a 5-point lead into the half time break but this was caveated with the aid of a very strong breeze at our backs. Oola made good use of the elements in the second half, outscoring us by 1-07 to 1 goal and 1 point. While a disappointing result, there were certainly signs of positive things to come with some encouraging phases of play and some fresh young faces making the step-up to senior football. We play Monaleen, away next Saturday at 3 in our second round game. Final score: Na Piarsaigh 1-06 Oola 2-07

Schools Hurling – Ardscoil Rís

Any hopes of making it back to a Croke Cup final were ended for Ardscoil Rís as they lost to St. Kierans on Saturday in Bansha. The Kilkenny school proved too strong for the Limerick lads, with Ardscoil losing on a scoreline of 1-19 to 0-14. John O’Keefe lined out at corner back while James Finn was ruled out due to injury. Ronan Benson, Sean Harrington and Eoin Brosnan were all on the extended panel.
