Senior Football

Our Senior Footballers lost out to Mungret on Saturday evening in the league, losing on a scoreline of 17 points to 9. While on the wrong side of the result, this game saw the introduction of Louis Murphy at midfield adding to the ever growing list of young lads making their adult debut in 2024.

Team: Eoghan Sherlock, James Linnane, Shane Walsh, Ralph Leonard, Evan O’Brien, Reuben McCarthy, Ronan Houlihan, Gordon Brown, Louis Murphy, Tom McKeon, Evan Sweeney, Adam Jordan, Dylan Cronin Dean McLoughlin, Evan Egan. Subs: Jack McCarthy, Christy O’Hagan, Darragh Jordan, Cian Harrington, Adam Hallinan.

Senior Hurling

Our senior hurlers made their way down to Portmagee for an exhibition game against Tipp’s Kiladangan on Saturday. In what was a picturesque setting, our lads ran out winners on a scoreline of 1-18 to 0-18. Kevin Downes was awarded man of the match for his standout performance in goals, pulling off some incredible saves throughout. Shane might have another contender for his position between the posts come championship. We would like to thank all in Portmagee and Skellig Rangers for their wonderful welcome and hospitality.

Féile Camogie

Our Féile Camogie team made it all the way to the division 2 Féile Final on Sunday, only to come out on the wrong side of a keenly fought game. The Na Piarsaigh girls had a brilliant weekend winning 2 out of 3 games in the group, and then defeating Ahane in the semi-final. While a disappointing result in the final, it is safe to say there’s a bright future ahead for Camogie in Na Piarsaigh. Well done to the players and management for an excellent campaign.

Round 1 - Na Piarsaigh 2-5, Doon 0-3; Round 2 - Croagh-Kilfinny 3-1, Na Piarsaigh 1-4; Round 3 - Na Piarsaigh 2-5, Kilmallock 1-0; Semi-final - Na Piarsaigh 5-5, Ahane 1-4; Final – Ballybrown 5-2 Na Piarsaigh 3-5

There’s Life in the Ould Dog Yet!

Of all the debuts that have occurred in 2024, the most significant must be that of Mick O’Neill for Kilkee/Bealaha in West Clare. Yes, we’re talking about thee Micko, Na Piarsaigh legend and father of current senior hurling manager Shane. Just the 77 years young, Micko played a full game at corner forward for Kilkee/Bealaha junior hurling team over the weekend. Reports also telling us that he held his man scoreless for the hour. More to follow…
