Dan Hickey

Originally hailing from Cappawhite, Dan Hickey first moved to Limerick as a teenager to take up an apprenticeship with the ESB in Ardnacrusha in the 1950's. He would win a minor hurling championship with Claughaun before lining out for Treaty Sarsfields at senior level for a number of years. Dan was central to the development of Na Piarsaigh from the early 1970's right up to his passing in 2015. He served as club secretary from 1976 - 77, chairman from 1978 - 86 and was carrying out the role of culture officer at the time of his passing. At County Board level Dan served as Oifigeach na Gaeilge and as Chairman of the Limerick Development Committee. A fantastic servant to both Na Piarsaigh and Limerick GAA, Dan will always be remembered fondly as a true gael.
