Senior Footballers Record Third Win in the League

Our senior footballers made it 3 wins from 3 in the league following their 8-point victory away to Ballylanders on Saturday afternoon. The lads controlled the game from start to finish, weathering our opponents purple patch in the early part of the second half. The result was all the more impressive as Evan Egan was given his marching orders following 2 yellow cards with 10 remaining in the first half. Kieran Daly was also denied a goal in the opening 30, hitting the upright from a penalty. That didn't sour Daly's afternoon, as the Caherdavin man came away with a 12-point haul. Adam Jordan and Aaron Rush both put in a solid shift at the back while Matty Walsh drove it on at midfield. A really satisfying away victory for both the players and management. Round 4 of the league pits us against Mungret on Saturday the 12th of April, in Páirc Uí Dromgúil.
Final score: Na Piarsaigh 0-17 Ballylanders 0-09

Team: James Linnane, Christy O'Hagan, Conor McLaughlin, Aaron Rush, Adam Jordan, Ralph Leonard, Ronan Houlihan, Jack McCarthy, Matty Walsh, Fionn O'Tiarnaigh, Gordon Brown (0-02, 0-01f), Evan Egan (0-02, 1x2pt), Evan Sweeney (0-01), Kieran Daly (0-12, 2x2pt, 0-01'45, 0-06f), John Leahy.
Subs: Stanley Dike, Jim Beary & Sam Jordan.

Junior B Footballers Claim a Draw with Liberties

Our Junior B footballers came away with a draw following an exciting battle with South Liberties on Sunday evening. Goals from Stanley Dike, Stephen O’Halloran and a speculative effort from Pa O’Neill. Pa celebrated with an audacious finger wag similar to the Brazilian Ronaldo after his second goal in the 2002 World Cup final. Pa wasn’t even alive for that tournament I might add.
Final score: Na Piarsaigh 3-10 South Liberties 2-13

Team: Ben O'Regan, Conor Killian, Louis Murphy, Robert Duffy, Thomas Fitzgerald, Steven O'Halloran (1-01), Darragh Jordan, Peter Hodnett, Kevin Daly, Ruaidhrí Ó Conaill (0-03, 0-02f), Leon Power, Pa O'Neill (1-02), Mark Hogan (0-03), Stanley Dike (1-01), Conor Stack.
Subs: JJ Carey, Cian Brosnan & Evan McKenna.

Limerick Minor & U20

James Finn and Eoin Brosnan gave stellar displays for Limerick U20’s as they defeated Tipp in a thriller in Semple Stadium last Tuesday evening. John O’Keeffe was our third representative in the extended panel. Their next game sees them make the journey to Dungarvan on the 9th of April.
Shane Waters recorded 11 points for the Limerick minor hurlers, 4 of them coming from play in their opening round loss to Cork last Friday night. Shane gave a brilliant display at corner forward throughout the 60 minutes. David O’Keeffe had a strong captain's performance at midfield, while Danny Sheehan was excellent at wing forward. Marcus Murphy’s puck-outs were pin-point accurate for the hour also. Alex Kearns was introduced late and converted a difficult free to get his name on the scoresheet. Their next game brings them to Dungarvin next Friday evening.

Danny on the charge.

Marcus with the leap.

David motors away from his man.
Shane gathers a low one.
