Mayor Moran Launches Na Piarsaigh 5K Family Run/Walk & 10K Run on a Night of Full-Pitch Action
Limerick, 2 September 2025 – Na Piarsaigh GAA Club welcomed Mayor of Limerick John Moran to Páirc Uí Dromgúil on Monday, 1st September, for the launch of its 5K Family Run/Walk and 10K Road Race fundraiser, taking place Sunday, 21st September at 11:00 am.
The Mayor’s visit coincided with one of the busiest training nights, with every pitch in use, from enthusiastic Under 6s and underage Monday Night Football to an U16 Hurling Championship match, plus Senior Football and Senior Camogie training. Inside the clubhouse, the atmosphere was just as lively, with Irish dancing classes in full swing and preparations underway for the club’s weekly popular Lotto social evening.
“Na Piarsaigh is a shining example of what sport can do for a community,” said Mayor Moran during his tour. “This fundraiser is about more than running, it’s about coming together to support a club that gives so much back to its community.”
