A great Sunday afternoon for the Limerick senior hurlers as they defeated Cork in the league final in Páirc na nGael. William O’Donoghue had a stormer at centre back while Mike Casey was an absolute trojan at number 3. Peter made a decent impact off the bench, only recently returning from injury. We now look forward to the opening round of the Munster Championship in Páirc Uí Chaoimh in 3 weeks time.
Dressing Rooms Cleanup & Painting
Great work was done last Friday as members assembled to give the dressing rooms a once over ahead of our planned painting this Saturday and Sunday. We appeal to all members who can lend a hand over the weekend be it for a couple of hours or just one, and bring along any painting equipment you may have. See poster with further details.
Painting this weekend.
Lavinia supplied the ice-creams on Friday in what was a great afternoon of teamwork.
Division 3 Football League Round 1
Na Piarsaigh 3-12
Pallasgreen 1-10
Our intermediate footballers got off to a winning start in the league following an 8-point win over Pallasgreen last Wednesday evening in Páirc Uí Drimgúil. There were goals galore in the first half with Ralph Leonard being the first to rattle our opponents net, making a rangey run from midfield, giving a one-two with Evan Egan before crashing the ball past the opposition keeper. Our lead was short lived as Pallas responded right from the kick-out to raise a green flag at the other end. We didn’t let the goal negatively affect us as our lads got back into their stride soon after. Kieran Daly landed a beauty of a 2-pointed free from the ground followed by a Stanley Dike goal, drilling the ball to the net. Kieran scored our third and final goal just before the break, putting us 3-points to the good. The second half wasn’t the same goal-fest as the first with Evan Egan notching a couple of frees along with an impressive long range point from Ralph, bordering on a 2-pointer. The second half also saw the introduction of minors Ferdia Minihan, Cian Cronin and Odhran Gilroy, all making their adult football debuts, along with Alex Harris in goals. Great to see.

Division 3 Football League Round 2
Na Piarsaigh 3-09
Galbally 3-10
Round 2 of the league saw our lads lose out by the slimmest of margins in a tough away trip to Galbally. While the result didn’t fall our way, still plenty of learnings for a young group on the up. Round 3 sees us make the trip out to Foynes to play St. Senan’s next Saturday evening at 6pm.
