U13 Division 1 County Hurling Final

Na Piarsaigh 3-04
Mungret 1-05

It was an early start for our U13’s on Saturday morning for the County Final at Mick Neville Park in Rathkeale.

With two very evenly matched teams the first half was exciting hurling but it was Mungret who were more clinical in front of goal, leading at the break 1-02 to 0-01. A huge response was needed, and credit to the players they lifted their game.

A goal early in the second half from the pocket rocket Harry Ryan was followed up quickly by a point from his older brother Luca. Suddenly Na Piarsaigh had the momentum. Charlie Collins added a goal before Archie O’Sullivan added two huge scores.

At the other end our backs were throwing their bodies on the line and breaking up all Mungrets attacks. A super save from Ollie Reid kept Mungret at bay. Mungret had the game back to 3 points before a superb opportunist goal by Cathal Sheehan sealed the victory.

A great day for these 30 plus lads, they did the club proud. They've put in a huge effort all year and we're delighted for them and their families.

Division 1 Hurling League Round 5

Na Piarsaigh 4-14
Ballybrown 0-16

Our senior hurlers got back to winning ways following a 10-point victory over Ballybrown on Saturday night in Clarina. The result put to bed our poor run of form having lost 3 games in a row. A hugely important win, not alone for the points on the board but for the performance itself.

The game marked the return of Shane Dowling to the starting 15, along with Eoin Brosnan returning from his Munster U20 campaign with Limerick. Both played significant roles in our win, Brozzie stepping up with 2 goals, both coming either side of half time, and Shane pulling off an important save in the second period. Vince Harrington resumed the full back position he played in the county final, helping keep the Ballybrown full forward line at bay. While James Finn stepped into centre back, having a fine performance at the heart of the defense. You can see he has reaped the benefits of the couple of months spent with the Limerick senior squad. A lad well able to take a belt but not shy about mixing it with the opposition either. Once again, David O’Keeffe had an accomplished display at midfield, steadily improving with every game at the senior ranks. He came away with a point from play along with a few heavy hits which will do him no harm.

The next round sees Kilmallock visit Páirc Uí Dromgúil next Saturday evening ar 7:30 followed by Patrickswell the week after, also in Na Piarsaigh.

Team: Shane Dowling, Jerome Boylan, Vince Harrington, Ronan Lynch, Mike Foley(0-01), James Finn, Mark O’Connor, Wayne Kearns(0-07, 0-05f), David O’Keeffe(0-01), Keith Dempey(0-01), Daithí Dempsey(0-03), Conor Boylan(1-00), Dylan Lynch(1-01), JJ Carey, Eoin Brosnan(2-00).
Sub: Kevin Daly and John O’Keeffe.

A great bunch of lads

U17 Division 1 Hurling Shield Final

Na Piarsaigh 2-12
Ahane 1-24

Our U17 hurlers were second best in the Shield Final last Monday evening following a 9-point defeat to Ahane in Rathbane. While disappointing to lose a final, the U17 league competition has proven valuable, providing competitive games for lads in the build up to the minor and U16 championships.

Limerick Minors

Shane Waters captained the Limerick minor hurlers in their Munster final defeat to Tipp on Friday evening in Thurles. Shane struck 8 points, 3 of those from play. He had an outstanding Munster campaign wearing the green jersey and doing Na Piarsaigh proud. Limerick have the All Ireland series in the offing over the coming weeks.

Limerick

Peter, William and Mike all played their part in Limerick's win over Waterford on Sunday, and qualifying for the All Ireland series. Peter came away with 1-01 to his name, having to channel his inner Maradona for the goal. A win over Tipp next Sunday will see us through to a Munster final.

Primary Game

We have three solid Na Piarsaigh lads lining out for Limerick in the Primary Game against Waterford on Sunday. Well done to Oran Bourke, Olly Reid and Charlie Collins. Daithí Burke reffed the game also and kept the whistle in his pocket.

Well done Oran, Olly and Charlie.

Summer Camp

Our Summer Camp for 2026 will run from Monday the 29th of June to Friday the 3rd of July. Our Easter Camp was a huge success, with over 100 attendees for the week and we look forward to our Summer edition being even bigger and better with our Limerick hurlers and camogie players set to visit throughout the week. Fair play to Paul McNamara and the Bord na nÓg team for their ongoing work in organising what promises to be great fun for all the kids.
